what kind of glasses do we wear?

"Wouldn't you hate to wear glasses?" one small boy asked another.
"No, " said the other, "not if I could have the kind my grandma wears. My mother says she can always see when folks are tired or discouraged or sad. She sees when somebody is in need, and she can always recognize when you have something on your mind that you need to talk over. But best of all she can always see something good in everybody."

Those are called glasses of grace and we all need them.

bucket drumming!

This past summer, the Free Reformed youth camp held a talent show at the end of the weekend. The young peoples and councilors from our church gave a stunning show and revealed their hidden talent of bucket drumming.
Enjoy!

newborn pictures

My friend Christine and her sister came over to take pictures of our little one and the rest of the "tribe."
Thanks Yellow Box Photography! It's not an easy job making small boys sit and smile;)
Caleb is eleven days old on these pictures and I cannot believe at how fast time is going. Why does it seem that the last few weeks of pregnancy feel like years and now he is already six weeks old!

zoo-like-ness

When my grandma was over a little while ago, she made a comment that our house was kind of like a zoo. I couldn't help but agree. I wasn't sure if she said this because everyone was home from school and it was a tad crazy or if she said it because of the animals all around us.

This beautiful hawk sits on our barn roof and sweeps into the fields. I cheer it on hoping that it catches
lots of field mice.

Deer in the field beside us

All eleven puppies are with their new owners. It was fun having them and a great experience for the
boys but the smell of puppies...

When you least expect it a dinosaur sneaks up to you and starts nibbling at your feet!

And while dusting, little miniature animals pop up all over the place and most often in two by twos. I wonder if they think that that little man with the blue hat is Noah!
